Description
A distinctive feature of silver coins with the image of this Australian bird is the reverse, which changes every year. Each successive edition depicts one, sometimes several, birds along with a piece of their natural habitat. The mintage of each edition is limited, which further increases collectors’ interest in this series. The coin is made with great accuracy and attention to detail which only emphasizes its collector’s premium for investors.
The reverse of this silver coin shows us a small Australian kookaburra sitting on the branch of a eucalyptus tree. Fragments of eucalyptus branches can be seen in the background. At the very top, the name of the series is placed in the rim. At the bottom we see a small privy mark with the letter P, the symbol of the Perth Mint, and even lower the year of issue along with the weight and silver content of the coin. The obverse shows the right profile of Queen Elizabeth II, with the denomination 1 AUD below it.
