Description
Achilles is a legendary figure in Greek mythology, the strongest warrior and hero in the Greek army during the Trojan War. Known for being almost immortal except for one weak spot – his heel – due to the spot not being dipped into the magical River Styx by his mother as a child, Achilles was finally defeated by an arrow to the heel.
This silver round is the third release in the ‘Legendary Warriors’ series. The first two releases in this collection were Eric Bloodaxe, and Julius Caesar. Future releases are expected to include: Alexander the Great, Spartacus, William Wallace, Geronimo, Sitting Bull, Joan of Arc, Genghis Khan, Leonidas I, Miyamoto Musashi, Arminius, Attila the Hun, and Hannibal.
The reverse side of the fine silver round features a detailed design showing Achilles engaged in battle. He is depicted wearing a helmet while brandishing a shield and spear.
The obverse of the round bears a bundle of weapons to represent the ‘Legendary Warriors’ series. The round’s weight and fineness also appear.
