Description
The Obverse
The obverse features typical animals found in the Australian outback: the kangaroo, the koala, and the kookaburra, all draped on a golden wattle, Australia’s national flower. At the bottom of this side of the coin, prominently placed on a scroll, it reads: “1899 THE PERTH MINT 2024.” The upper edge of the coin displays: “2024 1OZ 9999 SILVER.” Near the depiction of the koala, you can see the mint mark “P125,” celebrating the 125th anniversary of The Perth Mint.
The Reverse
The reverse showcases the familiar profile of the current English King Charles III, who, unlike his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, faces left. Surrounding his portrait are the inscriptions: “CHARLES III. AUSTRALIA” and the denomination of “1 DOLLAR.”
This investment coin is limited to a worldwide mintage of 150,000 pieces and has a fine weight of 31.1035 grams.
