The obverse of the coin

The 2023 1 oz Somalia Silver Elephant coin features a beautiful rendition of the majestic creature and contains 1 oz of .9999 fine Silver. Every year the design changes which makes this coin very attractive and desirable to collectors and investors.

The design always includes the elephant, but it is depicted in a variety of scenes and can also present multiple elephants. This year’s design focuses on the head of the African bush elephant. Set in right-profile relief, the elephant uses its trunk to pull down a tree branch in order to feed itself. On the reverse of the coin can be found the Somalian Coat of Arms. This coat of arms has a shield with a star in the middle with lines in the background. The shield is supported by leopards standing on spears. Above their heads are the inscriptions ‘SOMALIA REPUBLIC’. ‘2023’ is split across the middle of the coin and ‘100 SHILLINGS’ is at the bottom.
