Since 1982, Mexican Silver Libertads have been part of the precious metals market. The BU Silver Libertad shone the brightest during its second ten years of existence. Back in the 1990s, the Mexican Mint enhanced the series by bringing in 2 oz and 5 oz silver coins, plus four even smaller fractional-ounce coins.

Obverse design elements on the 2023 2 oz Silver Libertad include the national coat of arms. You will not only the modern seal of Mexico, but also ten historic versions of the same design, with the seal at the 12-o’clock position dating all the way back to the 1541. The modern seal features a golden eagle on a prickly pear cactus as it battles a serpent.

Reverse visuals on 2023 Mexican Silver Libertad Coins include the image of Winged Victory. This design is based on the statue of Winged Victory that tops the Mexican Independence Victory Column in Mexico City and features the winged figure of the goddess Victory with a laurel wreath in one hand and broken chains in the other.
