Description
The Design
The design that names the series is on the reverse side. It features a Dragon with sharp paws and a twisted body. The Chinese symbol corresponding to its sign is on the upper left, and “2024 YEAR OF THE DRAGON” is on the bottom.
The obverse displays the Coat of Arms of Samoa and the coin’s issuance, fineness, metal content, face value, and weight through “SAMOA,” “2024,” “999 FINE SILVER,” “5 TALA,” and “2 TROY OUNCE.”
The Year of the Dragon
The Chinese Calendar follows a lunisolar pattern, which identifies the years according to astrological signs. Each year corresponds to a specific animal whose ascendence determines the fortune and personality traits of its days and those born in these years.
