Description
The 2024 Somalian African Elephant 1oz silver coin is a legal tender coin issued by the Somali Republic. The coin is struck from 9999 fine silver, and weighs 1 ounce or 31.1 grams.
The obverse side of the coin features the Somalian coat of arms, which depicts two leopards, a shield and two spears, along with the year of mintage, and value of 100 shillings. The reverse side of the coin features an African elephant whose the design changes every year, with this years design featuring a playful calf under the African sun with acacia trees in the background. It is accompanied by the inscriptions “AFRICAN WILDLIFE” and “ELEPHANT” in addition to the weight and purity of the coin “1 oz Ag 999.9”.
